Paradigm🌀How Does Online Counseling Work?

Let us break it down to its bare bones, shall we?

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy or e-therapy, is a form of mental health care that is delivered over the internet. This means that you can connect with a therapist from the comfort of your own home, using a computer, tablet, or smartphone.

Fair enough?

The logistics?

Online counseling works in much the same way as traditional in-person counseling. You will meet with your therapist regularly, and you will discuss your thoughts, feelings, and experiences. The therapist will help you to understand your problems and develop coping mechanisms.

Benefits?

It is convenient, affordable, and accessible. You can access online counseling from anywhere in the world, and you can schedule sessions at times that work for you.

Another benefit of online counseling is that it can be more discreet than in-person counseling. If you are not comfortable talking about your problems in person, you may find that online counseling is a more comfortable option. Sweet deal!

Challenges?

Of course, there are also some challenges to online counseling. One challenge is that it can be difficult to build rapport with your therapist online. However, many therapists are experienced in online counseling, and they know how to build rapport with clients in a virtual setting. I trust we are catchin' up on the virtual rapport pretty quickly now! :)

But it ain't for everybody tho...and that's okey.

No doubt, online counseling can be less effective for some people. If you have a complex mental health issue, you may need the in-person support of a therapist. However, for many people, online counseling can be an effective way to get the help they need.

If you are considering online counseling, there are a few things you should keep in mind. First, make sure that the therapist you choose is licensed and experienced in online counseling. Second, be clear about your expectations for therapy.

What do you hope to achieve from therapy?

Once you have found a therapist and set your expectations, you can start your online counseling journey....and tell us *all* about it!!
